Welcome back everyone! Hope you are all doing well and have nice weather wherever you are. We had some horrible weather here. There were some severe storms that swept in about 11:30 pm on Monday night and by Tuesday morning five people were dead. Trees were rooted from the ground and fell across homes and some homes were even lifted off their foundation. When I saw all the destruction that was caused by this storm, I could not believe that all this took place right here in Georgia. It's all just so sad and makes you realize that we should not take anything for granted and that we could lose everything in a heartbeat. Yesterday I also had to make the sad decision to have one of my pet birds put to sleep. The vet suggested that it was the most humane thing to do as she had a tumor in her abdomen and was suffering. They could have operated but she most likely would not have made it so I gave them the OK to go ahead and end her pain. It really sucks losing a pet, especially one that was as sweet and intelligent as she was.Today I am sharing a get well card. The main image is "Sicky Pooh" from Digis with Attitude. Isn't she cute?
I colored the image with Copic markers. I wanted to create a pattern on the chair so I used the tiny flower stamp from the Stampin up "Small Sayings" set and stamped randomly on the chair with white chalk ink. The sentiment is from the Stampin up "Really Retro" set. The image and sentiment were placed on cream card stock that was then embossed with the "Grace's Frame" folder from Cuttlebug. The patterned paper in the background is from Making Memories. That's pretty much it! Have a great day everyone. Thanks for visiting and until next time, Happy Crafting!

love the image and your layout, that embossing frame is awesome!
ReplyDeleteSue, so sorry to hear about your bird, I know that is a tough decision, but you did the right thing if your bird was suffering and it is hard to lose a pet, sending you {{hugs}}. I also heard about the storms last night after I got TV back and thought about you, hoping you were ok. It was so sad to hear about all the destruction and those that lost their lives. So now on to that adorable card you made!! This such a great card for a get well and you are so creative to think of the flowers on the chair, that is what I don't have, I never think of that stuff. Have a great day and hang in there my friend.
ReplyDeleteAww I'm so sorry to read about your bird. Sending you huge virtual hugs.
ReplyDeleteLovely card, I really like the way you stamped the flower pattern on the chair.

I'm sorry about your pet bird. It does suck losing a pet, especially when they're part of your life. I hope you feel up and better soon over your loss. My heart and sympathies go out to you!
ReplyDeleteThis card is brilliant. I love your ideas and learn something new every time I visit. I love the embossed frame, it looks like a fire surround, and the idea of stamping on the chair is genious.

ReplyDeleteThat is so scary to think of all that destruction so close to where you live. So glad that you and Roberto are fine. And I am so sorry to hear about your baby. Making a decision like that is never easy and always makes you feel so sad. I'm sending you hugs honey.
